I came up with the idea of Canteiro during the Covid pandemic. Furloughed from my job, I was looking for a hobby to fill my days and bring a bit of joy into my family's home. I decided I would teach myself to draw on the computer - I hadn't drawn in a long time so the ability to undo your mistakes really appealed to me!

Hi! My name is Luke and I'm the founder of Canteiro Studio. I'm also the illustrator, the accountant, the parcel packer, the email answerer and chief coffee maker - and trust me, there's a lot of coffee making!
I enjoy illustrating every last product on my website, and I hope each sale brings a little joy into someone else's home! I want to thank all my family and my friends for pushing me to do this (and for feigning interest as I ramble on for hours about nifty spreadsheet functions and the key to good photographic lighting)!

So for a few days I started photographing different leaves and flowers from around my home, my garden and my local park, then using them to draw from. I added some bright colours to bring myself a bit of cheer, and that's how we got here!
